Extra Curricular Activities
The Our Lady of Fatima Athletics program is opened to students in grades five and above. Students have the option to participate in Volleyball, Basketball, and Cheerleading throughout the school year. During our annual Spirit Week and Basketball tournament, students in grades K-4 have the opportunity to participate in Pee-Wee Cheer. The Alumni are also invited to participate in an Alumni Basketball game. Through our Physical Education and Athletics program, our students learn the value of team work and good sportsmanship in addition to game playing skills.
Participation in Student Council allows students the opportunity to learn about representative government in a real- life setting. Students in grades five and above campaign during elections week for the positions of President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, Publicity, Ecology, and Religious Affairs. Students in third and fourth grade also campaign to be selected class representatives. Student Council meets with their faculty advisor twice a month to plan activities for the student body. These activities include our fall Carnival, Advent and Lenten service projects, and spring Olympics.
Students in grades three and above who have received their First Communion have the option of becoming altar servers. After sufficient training, students are able to assist at all parish Masses including school Masses, weekend Masses, and Funeral Masses. Students who choose to serve at weekend and funeral Masses receive credit toward their required service learning hours.
Students in fifth grade and above serve as our traffic patrol both before and after school. Under the supervision of their faculty mentors, students direct traffic and maintain crosswalk safety in the parking lot and in front of the school. Participation in Traffic Patrol does require students to come earlier and stay later on the days they are assigned traffic duty.
